Community Outreach and Giving Recap

Our team at Thompson Gray is passionate about supporting our Huntsville and Northern Virginia communities through donations and service. We’re proud to share about four incredible organizations we’ve recently supported. Each has their own mission to position our youth or young professionals for bright futures, and we know our cities, states and world will benefit from the work these organizations dedicate themselves to daily.

Thompson Gray greatly values the work teachers put into preparing our community’s rising workforce for success. As 2020 has been a year of unprecedented change in the wake of COVID-19, our team was eager to give back to our community’s teachers and students who recently started a different, but still vitally important year of learning. Through Free2Teach, an organization providing free resources to teachers in Madison County’s three public school systems, we were able to supply two classrooms with essential school supplies. We’re thankful for Free2Teach and the work they do to support education in our area.

Q2 Giving

One of our favorite ways to give back to the community is through our quarterly charitable giving, which offers our employees the opportunity to nominate an organization or cause near and dear to their hearts to receive a financial donation. Below are our Quarter 2 recipients.

  • Harris Home for Children – Harris Home for Children, located in Huntsville, AL, seeks to provide the highest level of foster care, therapeutic care and educational services to help the children of Alabama reach their full potential. The organization’s residential and support programs are designed to nurture and empower children into capable and compassionate adults.
  • AASuccess – AASuccess offers young students and professionals year-round mentorship on leadership and professional skills, while providing resources and guidance to give back to their communities. The organization, based in Falls Church, VA, creates a safe environment where students can challenge themselves without fear of failure.
  • Camp Seale Harris – Camp Seale Harris of Southeastern Diabetes Education Services strives to educate, encourage and empower children with diabetes and their families to live well. Since 1949, the camp has provided a medically supervised, fun summer experience to thousands of youth with diabetes through twelve annual camp sessions in nine locations in Alabama and North Florida.

It’s a joy and a privilege to give back to communities we love through organizations like these. For more information about the organizations listed above and how you can volunteer, donate or learn more about the important work they are accomplishing, visit their websites, listed below.
